Macabre Monday – Mardi Gras Sun Wall Mask

by on Feb.18, 2019, under Products

Happy Macabre Monday dear reader. Today we will take a stroll into the crypt and see what we can find to add a bit of wickedly decadent style to our lives.

You need something beautiful in your life. Today we’re going to showcase a beautiful piece of wall decor.

In honor of having just survived Mardi Gras, (If you didn’t survive, I must congratulate you on joining us among the ranks of the undead.) we want to showcase a beautiful piece of wall art.

The Mardi Gras Sun Wall Mask Mardi Gras Sun Wall Mask

This piece of art is sure to make an impact on visitors to your home. It’s approximately two feet in width and consists of a painted mask surrounded by pierced metal sun rays.

The full-size face mask is made of heavy resin (like all our wearable masks). It’s thick and durable – this isn’t a thin dime store Halloween mask.

The mask is hand painted with glittering silver patterns. Since the masks are hand painted, they can differ slightly from product to product making them unique.

The surrounding halo of sun rays is made of pierced metal. The piercings create a delicate lacy design.

A trio of chains hang from the lower rays of the sun and join together with a bangle which hangs below the chin.
Within the rays of the sun, small crystals twinkle adding a pop of color and class.

This mask is not made to be worn although it would be simple enough to add lacings to allow it to be secured to your head – we don’t recommend that as you could easily hurt someone (or yourself) with the points of the sun rays as you move around.
The mask will look beautiful on a wall above your fireplace, bed or any other location where you want to make a statement.
It is priced at $300 in the store and includes free shipping. For a handmade piece of art, that is a steal!

Macabre Mercantile vs Historic Rt 66

by on Feb.12, 2019, under News

Today the Macabre Mercantile staff decided to take a roadtrip to the historic town of Oatman.
Who knew that the town would be packed to the gills with tourists early on a Tuesday afternoon?
We couldn’t stop but we got to see all the burros wandering the streets and ooh and aah at the quaint buildings as we drove through at 3 MPH.
We kept going since we missed our opportunity to be touristy and drove down Historic Rt 66.
It was a fun drive. The road is very narrow through the mountains east of Oatman, AZ and has TONS of switchbacks as it climbs and then descends over 3000 feet again and again.
The views were amazing.
We passed the Colorado Mine and then a bit futher spotted an old abandoned mine. Media Minion climbed up the steep hill to take a peek into the opening – he was not insane enough to try to go in.
The pic of the car is taken from the mine entrance so you can see how high up it was.
We followed RT66 almost all the way to Kingman, AZ. Fun ride, if you’re ever out that way, you should drive Rt 66.

Until our next adventure…..

Get your kicks...
